Massage carries a worldwide reputation for muscle relaxation, mental relaxation and healing. Tui Na as a one type of massage certainly provides these functions, yet also carries some purpose as a Chinese Medicine treatment.
The treatment principle for Tui Na is very similar to Acupuncture. However instead of stimulating the body through the insertion of needles or Moxibustion, Tui Na aims to stimulate the body through the hands of the therapist.
During the Tuina treatment, a Tuina therapist uses the hands to massage those body parts related to a disease. Through the movement and heat generated by the message, the nervous system is triggered to release feel-good chemicals that serve for pain control and support the body’s own internal regulating system.
